Through this carousel rotation activity students will explore Woodrow Wilson’s 14 principles and discover.

Activity Components                                       Description
Guiding Question   How do the 14 points relate to Woodrow Wilson’s foreign policy?
Set-Up  
  • Use Woodrow Wilson’s 14 points as the exemplar text for this activity.
  • Select 6-7 of the 14 points and write them on separate pieces of chart paper.
  • In groups of 4 students will create notes on the meaning of their assigned point. They should also write down what this tells us about the president's foreign policy.
Student Work  
  • In groups of 4 students will create notes on the meaning of their assigned point. They should also write down what this tells us about the president's foreign policy.
  • After 5 minutes, students will rotate to the next poster following the same guidelines.
Reflection and Debrief   After students had a chance to visit each poster, bring all of them to the center of the classroom. Discuss the meaning of each of the points and draw a conclusion of Woodrow Wilson’s foreign policy. What does this tell us about the state of America at the time and how they viewed other countries?
