Today I am learning … about the way that Blacks are treated in the U.S. and I will learn about recent events where members of the Black community were targeted by acts of racism and discrimination.
I know I understand when … I am able to understand better the experiences of Black people in the United States. When I am able to explain to my peers the oppressive experiences that Black people go through in their daily lives.
Students will be able to … work with groups to read and analyze the articles provided for this lesson plan. Students will be able to critically respond to questions revolving around racial discrimination and will be able to present on this issue to a group/class.
