I teach at an LAUSD school, how does the Challenge work?
The school with highest number of points at the end of the challenge will win a visit from singer and Disney star Kevin Quinn!
Students earn points by taking quizzes on Newsela. Here's how the scoring works:
- Students earn points for each quiz taken on Newsela.
- Students earn additional points for each correct quiz answer.
- Students earn double points for taking a quiz from any of the articles in the Taking on Climate Change Text Set and double points for every correct answer on these quizzes.
- Students earn bonus points for submitting an answer to the Write prompt for the op-ed by Kevin Quinn. Kevin will be personally responding to students with exceptional responses!
