Newsela PRO 101 will introduce you to the ins and outs of Newsela. By the end of the session you will know what Newsela is, how registration works for both students and teachers and how to effectively get started. Below are three easy steps to help you get started on your own.
Step 1. Watch the Newsela PRO 101 Recording
During this recording, you will see screenshots of Newsela’s Website and be led through the session by a former educator. Since it is a recording, we encourage you to open a new window and complete what you are seeing side by side with the recording. You can pause it and move through it at your own pace. The session is 15-minutes long.
Step 2. Check for understanding
Here is a checklist for the Newsela PRO 101 Webinar with a few key items to keep in mind after you have completed each section. This will help you see what the session is going to include and make sure that you have mastered everything in each section before moving on to the next.
Step 3. Start using Newsela in your classroom
Now that you have mastered Newsela PRO 101, we are excited to see how you use it with your students. Part of what makes Newsela awesome is that it can be used in so many different ways. To help you get started, check out this lesson plan or try one of our lesson plans from the Classroom Resources.
Now that you are up and running with Newsela, we would love to hear from you. Please follow us on Twitter @Newsela or join us on Facebook. This is the best way to connect with other educators and hear about what is up and coming at Newsela.
We are thrilled to have you as a part of the Newsela Community and if you are interested in taking the next level of training check out Newsela PRO 201 here.
