How Do I Participate?

How can my students earn points?
Earning points is easy. Here's how:

  • Have your students sign up for Newsela and add them to your class.
  • Once your students have signed up, they can start earning points by taking quizzes and getting correct answers on any Newsela articles.
  • Students will earn double points for articles in any “A Mile In Our Shoes” Text Set.

Will my students need to read all articles in “A Mile In Our Shoes” to earn double points?
No students does not need to read every article to earn double points - each article in the Text Set will be worth 2x points. We do encourage students to read all the articles to better empathize with each particular group.
