Reading Skills Report

Overview of feature 

The reading skills report empowers administrators to identify and address skill gaps with access to comprehensive data on student progress and performance in ELA skills through associated quizzes and activities.

Who can access it?

The reading skills report is available only to customers with a Newsela ELA subscription. 

Any user with a school or district administrator account.

Where can I access it?

Newsela school or district administrators can access the reading skills report by selecting from the admin drop down menu in the navigation.

You can view the following data: 

  • Average score for associated school(s) and grade levels for the selected Reading Skill(s). 

  • Overall Newsela average that represents the average performance during the selected time interval for all students who practiced this skill.  

  • You may use the filters to view reading skills scores by the level at which students took the quiz. Because students may be completing quizzes on texts that are above, at, or below their grade level, you’ll be able to
