Polls
Teachers can add polls to their assignments to activate prior knowledge and engage students at the start of a lesson. Polls can only be done before students read articles and take quizzes.
Polls are available on any text-based article. Teachers who would like their students to complete the poll, will check-mark the box next to "Student Poll" on the right-side Assignment Builder.
Once checked, a default poll will appear at the top of the article page.
Click “Choose another poll” to select a different poll question to assign to your students.
Click "Edit poll" to adjust the question and the answer choices to your preference. You can edit the verbiage, add more answer choices, or remove answer choices. If you've changed your mind and do not wish to make any changes, click on "Cancel" to return to the original poll.
Can't find a question that fits your needs?
Click on "Choose another poll" and select "Start from scratch". In the next window enter your question and answer choices. If you change your mind and prefer to select an option from the existing polls, click on "Cancel".
Students will see the poll on any article assigned to them where the teacher has opted to include the poll. After they submit their own response, they’ll see the class-wide results. The class-wide results will update every second without needing to refresh the page.
Teachers can see the results of the poll by going back to the assignment and clicking on the article they had assigned.
